Our 2021 Specialty Shows are Dedicated to Joe Waterman, 1932-2020

The fancy has lost an icon, Joe Waterman died in his sleep, May 30th, 2020.  Joe will always be remembered by Bichon breeders and exhibitors, along with Frank Sabella, for putting a pattern on that scraggly little white dog from France, the Bichon.  He also showed several Bichons that were Group and Best In Show winners. These dogs and Joe were responsible for the remarkable rise of the Bichon.  But most of all, Joe will be remembered for his ready smile, generosity, kindness and guidance to new breeders and exhibitors.  It will not be the same without Joe in the ring.

AKC COVID-19 Suggested Best Practices

Exhibitors are advised that if these events are permitted to be held (subject to California state and San Diego County guidelines) Covid-19 precautions will be in force.  An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any place where people in numbers are present. COVID-19 is an extremely contagious virus that can lead to severe illness and death.  In order to attend this event, you must voluntarily assume all risks related to COVID-19 exposure, and in return for that we will share with you steps that we are taking to mitigate risk. Full details will be covered in the Bahia Sur Kennel Club’s Premium List.  The COVID-19 Plan is expected to include temperature checks for all attendees; a requirement to wear face coverings while on the show grounds; and a signed Self-Declaration and Waiver of Liability Form which must be submitted before you enter the premises. NO EXCEPTIONS. Due to COVID-19 Guidelines and limited capacity for this event, it is with regret that we are unable to allow public spectators into the venue. Ringside seating will be for exhibitors only and you will be required to maintain a minimum of six feet of physical distance. Social distancing, use of proper sanitization and adherence to COVID-19 protocols are the responsibility of each individual on the show grounds.  As the show date gets closer, some of these restrictions may change.  Please refer to the Bahia Sur Kennel Club Premium List and to the Jack Bradshaw Show Superintendent website for the latest information.
